Incumbent will be expected to transport self to and from work daily by own means. Work hours begin at 7:00 and typically end at 3:30. Overtime without notice may be required. Incumbent must arrive at work early enough to coordinate with Production Supervisor to schedule days work and to gather tools, stage work area and begin productive work by 7:00. Lunch is typically taken at 11:30 for 30 minutes and Incumbent must promptly resume work at noon. Incumbents must supply their own food. Refrigeration space is not available. No personal phone calls will be made or messages delivered during working hours, except during lunch or breaks. Soft drink vending machine is available for use during lunch and breaks. Incumbents will not be allowed to take food or drinks to work stations. Likewise, smoking is not permitted except during designated breaks in designated locations.
Prompt arrival and return to work is expected. Tardiness will not be tolerated. One verbal warning will be given. One written warning will be given. The third event is subject to further disciplinary action. Absenteeism without proper notice is likewise not tolerated.
Safe work performance is expected. Supervision will insist upon safe work procedures. Supervision will spot check Incumbents for compliance. One verbal warning will be given. One written warning will be given. The third event is termination.
Incumbent must be able to layout, read blueprints, mark cut lines, drill, cut, trim, sand, finish, paint, clean, assemble and disassemble fabricated fiberglass (FRP) structures for full compliance with project specifications. Must be able to effectively direct multiple fabrication teams in fabrication of all FRP structural systems. Incumbent must be able to effectively schedule work loads, personnel, deliveries, transportation pickups, shipping and receiving activities, etc. Includes palletizing, banding and preparation for shipping customer FRP products by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed by supervision.
Incumbent must be able to layout, read blueprints, mark cut lines for full compliance with project specifications.
Incumbent must be able to safely drill, cut, trim, sand, finish, hand paint, clean, assemble and disassemble fabricated (FRP) structures for full compliance with project specifications.
Incumbent is to safely use any and all tools commonly used in the fabrication of FRP structures, e.g., cut-off saw, band saw, table saw, drill press, assorted hand power tools, assorted hand tools etc. Incumbent is to follow and apply safety related procedures as well as understand and apply Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) information related to chemical safety. Incumbent must be able to conduct properly documented daily safety meetings and handle related administrative duties.
Incumbent must direct up to 5 Fabricator teams (team may have up to 5 Fabricators each) in the safe and efficient fabrication, assembly and disassembly of FRP structures. During direction, incumbent must be teaching, coaching and in every manner possible, enhancing the skill and knowledge of subordinates.
Incumbent is to coordinate with Company supervision relating to material, hardware, tools, personnel, schedules etc., to assure safe and efficient project completion for both on-site and off-site projects.
Incumbent is to competently handle all field per the project specifications without direct supervision.
Incumbent assists others with the mechanical off-loading of FRP structural shapes, grating and assorted hardware from truck to staging area. Place 4x4 timber between pallets to facilitate future handling.
Incumbent assists others with the mechanical loading of FRP systems for shipment to customer.
Incumbent is to assist with truck loading/off-loading by serving as direction flag person.
Incumbent is to use broom or vacuum system to keep work area clean. Incumbent is to manually pickup larger pieces of drop material and debris.
Incumbent is to assist Shipping & Receiving personnel with the metal strapping of FRP products. Straight, secure banding is essential to safe transportation.
Incumbent dismantles existing crates/pallets and removes nails and other metal from wooden parts to salvage material. Incumbent is to assist others with the building of wood crates/pallets for shipment of other company products as needed.
As needed and directed, the incumbent loads and unloads materials from trucks and moves material to designated areas.
Incumbent is to perform other duties and tasks as directed.
Incumbent is to direct and handle administration for up to five fabricator teams.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)and at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Incumbent must be able to speak, read and write English fluently and clearly.
Incumbent must possess the skills to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Incumbent must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and supervision of the organization is required.
Incumbent must be able to follow directions to measure and mark dimensions for reference.
Incumbent must have ability to compute, ratio, and percent and to sketch and interpret sketches, blueprints, drawings, etc.
Incumbent must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Incumbent must have full understanding of angles, radius terms for application to FRP fabrication.
Incumbent must be able to follow instructions in both verbal and written form. He/she must be able to use common sense to identify situations that require supervisory guidance. Incumbent must be aggressive and assertive to ensure that questions are resolved before production errors are made. He/she must not be fearful of offering suggestions to supervision to improve production or quality.
Incumbent must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Incumbent must have a valid Texas driver's license, social security card, birth certificate or otherwise be fully able to document eligibility for employment in United States.

1. Incumbents will generally be required to work outside in contact with the natural environment. Both cold, heat and wind are normal exposures depending upon the time of year work is performed.
2. Incumbent will be exposed to intermittent noise levels in excess of 85 dbA but will be required to wear hearing protection.
3. Incumbent must be aware that all materials handled may possess burrs, protrusions, etc. that may cut unprotected skin.
While performing the duties of this job, the Incumbent could be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The Incumbent is frequently exposed to vibration. The Incumbent may infrequently have potential exposure to toxic vapor or chemical liquid. The use of proper skin and respiratory protection will provide excellent protection and its use when directed is absolutely mandatory and "not up for discussion". The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
The company will provide the needed foam hearing protection, respiratory protection, protective gloves and protective outer wear (Tyvek).
